Tennessee, The River & The Japanese Haiku: An Exploration of Expressions
The soothing sounds of the river are as rhythmic as a strokes of a painting or the phrases of a poem. Much like the rhythmic syllables of a Haiku, a japanese poem.
This lesson combines the soothing sounds of water on the river, relaxing music and a wonderful "Haiku" that expresses the students thoughts on Tennessee & the River. The goal of this lesson is to teach students to use their imaginations, to positively express themselves freely, and to learn to explore and positively express those feelings through creative poetry and painting with "Tennessee MudColors" (A combination of Water Colors, River Water and MUD).
After learning about the different feelings that one can have and expressing those feelings in different ways, students will begin to explore the wonderful facts about TN. The students will also listen to the soothing sounds of the river, while painting an "exploratory expressions painting", with awesome self-made "Tennessee Mud Colors" and participating in a "Haiku Journey and Exploration" online, as they express themselves by creating their own Haiku poem revealing their feelings and thoughts.
Keywords:Create, haiku, painting, water, river, sounds, feelings, expressions, shore, fish, peaceful, rocks, dirt, mud, cruise, ship, mountains, beach, sun, water, fun, happy, cold, hot, exploration, and Tennessee.
