American Literature



American Literature refers to the literature produced in the United States of America. It was heavily influenced by English literature during its beginnings, however, thanks to the works and outstanding writers it grew to create its own American literary tradition.

Literature produced in the USA is a product which has changed and adapted accordingly to the various events faced in the country. Most prominently, political conflicts and those made post World War I.

In this activity, you will have the chance to increase your understanding of the concept of American Literature and its different periods; as well as the different affairs which shaped it to be known as what it is today.
