The equality that we enjoy today is due to the oppression's that were challenged throughout history, especially in the 1950's and 60's. Some of the inequalities that were being fought then are still being fought today. Minorities continue to fight for equal rights in this country and many people today are still following the blue print of how to fight these inequalities that was laid out by the civil rights leaders from the 50's and 60's. It is important to study the history of the civil rights movement. It is important to understand the tactics that were used to overcome the oppression's that were being faced in this country. To understand what the most effective ways to fight inequality in past were will help fight for equality in the future.
