Trigonometry is the study of triangles. This webquest has been inspired from the Caribbean Examination Council's Mathematics syllabus. You are being exposed to the trigonometric ratios which are sine, cosine and tangent. Trigonometry is a very important topic of Mathematics. Many careers see the use of this topic; take for example, astronomers and astrologers. They use trigonometry when finding distance from a planet to the sun. When you encounter the trigonometric ratios, you will also encounter terms such as opposite side, adjacent side and hypotenuse. Whereas the hypotenuse is the longest side on a triangle, adjacent side helps to form the angle hence right next to it and opposite side which the angle will directly face.

You are expected to take a pivotal role in your learning by working independently in order to appreciate and complete the webquest. You will be given a number of tasks to do and from prior knowledge and information attained you will complete them. In this webquest you are an architect and you will need to build a home for a newly wed. You will need to find out certain information to make sure the home is properly built.
