Welcome to this WebQuest! Do you consider yourself as an active member of the academic circle of your own major? Have you ever wished or tried to publish a paper in a prestigious journal of your field? Have you ever made an effort to find highly-recommended articles in honorable publications? Have you ever tried to match your already-finished article with aims and scopes of an international and famous journal?
   
Have you ever wondered how much confident you will be with the journals and specifically articles found on the web? How much do you know about academic journals? Have you heard of popular databases? Have you  ever thought how a database allows a researcher to identify which articles have been cited most frequently, and who has cited them?  

What do you know about the scientific and academic journals such as: ISI and Scopus?

It is time to answer these questions and obtain sufficient information regarding over-heard terms in your disciplinary community.

These are some fundamental points that every postgraduate students should know, due the significance role of academic publications in distributing and producing science. Nowadays, one of the most important concern of all instructors, and all university students is finding or publishing papers.

Having a good command of knowledge concerning the points mentioned above, including reputable journals in your field, grand databases, journal ranking, impact factor, etc assist students to save their time and energy with sending their already-finished papers to the right journal, if they have become familiar with such issues in advance.

It is high time to identify which databases provide some measure of the academic impact of the papers indexed in it which lead to increasing their impact by making them more visible and providing them with a quality label, because as was suggested appearing in these databases can double the number of citations received by a given paper.  

  Definitely,  it is a desire for all students and writers that their papers are seen, read and cited by others, even all around the world. So, you may find some clues here.
