New President Movie

Introduction

20160816040657Dubuq.jpg

It's Election Time! A new President is coming to office November 8th of this year! (well, that's election day, but he OR she will be inaugurated on January 20th, 2017!  Your job is to advertise for the upcoming new President of the United States (#potus) in an upcoming movie poster!

Read on for requirements, due date and how to submit (you MUST read all this first, or you'll submit it wrong, losing points and time spent re-doing it!)

1) What's required on the poster?  Include fun, creative graphics showing a bit about what your New President of the Executive Branch movie will be about. You can create this yourself, or "borrow" a graphic from the internet (please pick something that is appropriate for class...no naked Melanie Trumps!)

2) What's required in the movie reviews and text on the poster?  In describing the movie, you will need to include at least  4 of the 7 roles of the President for full credit, and you can include all 7 for 15 additional extra credit points, highlighting or underlining each role in some way  For example, using my graphic below, I might include a statement like, "As Commander in Chief, President Obama ruthlessly tracked down the terrorists in Pakistan and gave the order to kill enemies he found."  That statement shows I understand what the Commander in Chief might do.

Also, you will need to include at least 1 cabinet department and 1 federal agency that the President might use in the text of your movie review, showing you understand what these departments do.  Highlight or underline them in some way.   For example, "The President sought advice from the Department of Defense before he gave the order to bomb, and he used several spies from the Central Intelligence Agency to find where the enemies were located."  That sentence shows I understand the roles of both the cabinet and the agency I highlighted.

3)  How do I submit this?  Go to www.postermywall.com and click on Login in the top, right hand corner.  DO NOT setup an account.   Look for the button that says "Student Login" and click that.  Then type in the project name exactly as it's written here: Executive Branch Movie Poster  Then click on Login.   Once you're in, you'll have to pick a template or upload your own image you found on the web.  Add text, graphics, etc, then when you are finished, on the right hand side, give your poster a Title which includes YOUR NAME.  You can write notes to me in the Description field if needed.  Then click on Save at the top, and Download and save it to your computer if you would like.  If you do not follow these instructions exactly, I won't see your poster.

4 )When is it due?  To get full credit  (40 points total), have the poster submitted correctly by 2PM today (work on it from home if you run out of time, it's early release day!)   Anything after 2 PM today will only lose 5 pts per day, maximum 10 pts.  Breakdown on points are below:

20 pts for including 4 roles correctly, 10 pts for 1 cabinet reference and agency reference, and 10 pts for submitting correctly AND on time today.  Possible OPTIONAL extra points for including addition roles = up to 15pts.
