Revolutionary Art

A great of Mexican art at the beginning of the 20th century was influenced by or created as a reaction to historical events. In this webquest, students will research the major events and personalities of the Mexican Revolution and explore how these people and events influenced the artists and art of this time period. Much of the best work from this period were murals, especially those by Diego Rivera.  His epic depiction of Mexico history on the walls of the Palacio Nacional in Mexico City is a masterpiece.
