RE: SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS
The President feels the students of the United States are falling behind in mathematics. He is considering eliminating the study United States History (Social Studies) from elementary schools across the country. This extra academic time would be specifically devoted to further study of mathematics.
The President has assembled a Presidential Social Studies Committee to investigate what events in history, if any, are important to still be taught in school. Your class has been selected to conduct research and report back to the Presidential Social Studies Committee your findings. Your topic of research will be included in your Task Assignment File.
We, the Presidential Social Studies Committee, sincerely hope your class can help us convince the President that the study of history, social studies, is vital to student success and needs to be kept as a fundamental part of the curriculum. Thank you in advance for your hard work on this important matter.
Sincerely,
Isa Fundalern
Presidential Committee
