When the Roman Empire fell in 500, Europeans were in need of a new institution. They needed to develop a new set of guidelines to help better their society. Due to the instability of the Roman Empire, Europeans looked to decentralize. Medieval Europe decentralization occurred through the processes of Feudalism, Manorialism, and Roman Catholicism.
