Welcome MBA students to the home stretch! During your academic journey over the past 20 months through finance, accounting, marketing, business ethics, management and many other courses, many of you looked forward to the day when you can put everything together and apply it!

As we enter our last semester together, your opportunity to do so is right now! Our business school program is built on a comprehensive understanding of what people need to succeed in a global business environment. As students, you also realize that business does not stop at a country’s borders; business is on the world’s stage.

The business school’s alumni connections indicate over the past ten years, more than 60 percent of our alumni assume positions which require them to travel internationally to conduct business within three years of graduation. Knowing how to navigate the globe, conduct business practices cognizant of cultural and social differences, and making sound business decisions are fundamental skills you’ll need to succeed.

In order to compete in the global business arena, our curriculum incorporates international perspectives and immersion to provide you with first-hand insight to the global business world. You should feel proud that you have reached this stage in your academic journey. It is now your opportunity to sew together everything you’ve learned today and sharpen your business prowess before graduating this spring and launching your career.

This year’s geographic concentration for the international trip focuses on the Middle East, specifically Jordan.

This WebQuest focuses on Part One (pre-trip preparation) which will be completed during an eight week period. During this time, your group will address key business, political, economic, and social questions as you and your team investigates the business climate of Jordan.

In Part Two (our actual trip this March), you’ll meet first hand with business leaders in Jordan to hear their story in addition to soaking in the culture and business climate of Jordan.

In Part Three when we return to the University, you’ll make informed recommendations to a group of interested business investors who look to you for advice on whether or not they should expand their operation into Jordan. Sound exciting? Roll up your sleeves as this semester-long project paves the way for a very real-world application of what you’ve been learning for nearly two years!
