Lyrical/Romantic Poetry and Critical Thinking
Introduction
What is something that each of us enjoys?
Something that each human being finds pleasure in regardless of their culture, status, or background?
What form of literature is it that each of us, each and every day, take the time to understand?
The lyric.
Why, though, do we all find pleasure in this?
There are a variety of answer here ranging from linguistics to even cultural preferences, but - in general - we each love it because it makes us "FEEL" a certain way.
From this feeling we take different interpretations, different readings, different concepts, that alter us each in different ways and allow us to shine new light upon a variety of subjects.
Throughout the course of this week, we will be learning the forms of this poetry... these songs... these tales so that you can truly understand why it is a poem, a story, a book, and/or even a film makes you feel that way that it does.
After this week you will be able to analyze yourself and other works with a more precise understanding.
