wavelength- the distance from the crest of one wave to the crest of the next wave visible spectrum-the colors of light visible to the human eye (ROY G BIV- red, orange, yello ,green ,blue ,indigo , violet) crest- the highest point on a wave; also called the peak trough- the lowest point on a wave reflection- when light bounces off an object and back at you refraction- when light bends; allows you to see a rainbow transparent- an object that allows all light to pass through it translucent- an object that allows some light to pass through it opaque- an object that does not allow any light to pass through it transverse wave- light waves are transverse waves with different wavelengths for each color of light concave- a surface that that curves like a bowl convex- a surface that curves outward like the back of a spoon far-sighted- the ablity to see objects that are farther away better than objects that are closer near-sighted- the ablity to see objects that are closer better then objects that are farther away
