Search engines are some special sites which help users to search various information. Search engines have databases at their background which index and catalogue the sites according to certain basic variables.

Search engines yield the best results when they are used in the most effective way. This webquest will help student to understand how to use these search engines to find what they search for.

Search results for any term yield millions of results. You need to filter your searched to find out what you are looking for. There are certain keywords (words that are specific to the searched terms) which when used can help in finding the most effective results. Also while using Boolean Operators (“And”, “or”, and “not”), you have to be careful to find the best results. When you search for a term using “and” and “or” it filters the results. Likewise “not” removes the keyword which it specifies.
