Economic Investment in Darfur

You are a group of representatives from various internal departments of a major U.S. oil company that have been asked to investigate if the oil fields Darfur posesses would be a sound start up investment for your company. You have all been tasked to investigate Darfur with respect to your departments individual focuses: security, finance, public relations, environmental, & political. While the decision ultimately rests with the president of the company your groups assessment of the situation in Darfur will be deeply considered by the CEO before a decision is made. Each group member will have a specific role to play and will be responsabile for working with other members of each department to come to a conclusion as to weather Darfur is a sound investment to make for the company. This assessment must be presented by all members of the group to the CEO (Me, your teacher) at the end of the webquest. The goal of each group is to convince the CEO that Darfur is either a good investment or a big mistake. Remember that this report must include all aspects of each department: Security, Finance, Public Relations, Environmental & Political. Also please keep in mind that these decisions must be made in an ethical way as your CEO prides himself on maintaing an international image of running an ethical company.
