Body Image Disorders and Eating Disorders are very dangerous and very real. As a society we have decided that men should look tall, lean, muscular, and women should look slim and flawless. The problem with these descriptions is that everyone is made differently, and these standards are impossible to meet.  More women than men have body image disorders, but no matter what sex you are it is still just as dangerous and unhealthy. Many athletes suffer from this disorder, especially if they are in any sport where weight is a concern. Gymnastics, cheerleading, ice skating, volleyball, wrestling, and more are all top sports that have athletes with Body Image Disorders and Eating Disorders. But skinny is not the only goal some sports require, bulking and building an extreme amount of muscle is just as life threatening. These are sports such as body building competitions, weight lifters, and wrestlers. The last is obesity and over eating. Yes, people compete to be the fattest man, woman, or human on earth causing dangerous levels of obesity.  This site is going to help you understand the signs, symptoms of Body Image Disorders and Eating Disorders, but more importantly its going to help you understand that this is a real disorder that people suffer from everyday.
