The Celebration of Kwanzaa

Jambo (jahm-bow)  watoto (wah-toe-toe) that's hello children in Swahili, this week we will learn about the African American holiday Kwanzaa. For the next five days we will study the following concepts of Kwanzaa: What is Kwanzaa? What is the meaning of the word Kwanzaa? The origin of Kwanzaa, when it is celebrated, why the language of Swahili is used, what it is based on and its principles, chakula (cha-koo-lah) food used in the celebration, and the meditation. So, let's pick a rafiki (rah-fee-key) friend and ngoma (n-go-mah) drum and dance and find out what Kwanzaa is all about!
