Essential Question: How is RtI and Idea implemented in the classroom?

Objective: The teachers will be able to understand the idea and process of RtI and how IDEA plays a part in the process.

One of the responsibilities as a teacher is to provide educational services that meet the needs of all students.  Teachers should be able to target learning gaps and if necessary, identify disabilities. One should know the importance of implementing Response to Intervention (RtI) within the classroom. Educators are able to target students' needs and apply the appropriate intervention.

RtI's data based decision making process aligns interventions to the needs of  the learner. Each level of  the multi- tiered framework provides strategies for conduct and academics. The  foundation of RtI delivers research based practices for general education. As the instructional delivery becomes more intense, strategic interventions allows administration, teachers, and parents to evaluating and targeting  appropriate student services.

Teachers will also have the opportunity to work within grade level groups to research and share their ideas on RtI and IDEA being implemented into the classroom daily.
