Mexico, Our Southern Neighbor

Why do you think it's important to learn more about Mexico?  You're right, as our neighbor to the south, the United States of America has been  influenced by the Mexican history, culture, and economy.  Many Americans speak Spanish and enjoy celebrating Mexican holidays and eating delicious foods that come to us from Mexico.  Additionally, Americans visit Mexico every year to enjoy the beautiful beaches and lush tropical rain forests.  Mexico is also important to our economy; many natural resources that we need to produce goods in the USA come from Mexico and we, in turn, export many things to Mexico.  Learning more about our neighbor to the south will help you understand and appreciate our similarities and differences.  This will make you a better neighbor and citizen of the world.
