Introduction

Tyler Clementi was a talented young man who took his own life after experiencing public humiliation on the Internet as a result of his roommate's cruel actions.  The tragic outcome in Tyler's case is unfortunately not unique.  Given the increasing prevalence of social media and social networking as the primary mode of interaction and communication among young people today, the Internet has become a potentially dangerous means of bullying.   Violence, depression, low self-esteem, and suicide are among the unfortunate consequences of cyber-bullying in the digital age.  This study will focus on the role of social media in promulgating acts of bullying and how and why certian individuals and groups are singled out as victims.  You will investigate, generate, and create a multimedia campaign against cyber-bullying on local, national, and global levels.
