EQ: What early historical events and contributions led to the development of a democratic America?

Your class has been chosen to put together a newspaper on early historical events  and contributions to American Democracy.

Objectives:

a.  Day 1: Students will discuss contributions of key people in gaining independence during the Revolutionary War. (American History)

b.  Day  2: Students will recognize that people in different places challenged their form of government which resulted in conflict and change. (World History)

c. Day 3: Students will identify the three branches of national government as represented by the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court. (Civics/Government)

d. Day 4: Students will recognize different types of maps and that they serve various purposes. (Geography)

e. Day 5:  Students will discuss costs and benefits of  personal savings. (Economics)

f. Day 6: Students will create and publish a class newspaper. (Language Arts)
