As the President of the United States it is your responsibility to select a Supreme Court Justice if the need arises. Justice David H. Souter plans to retire from the Supreme Court in June, giving you your first appointment to the court and the first seat for a Democratic president to fill in 15 years. This is a very important decision, as Supreme Court Justices hold their seat for life. You will need to make your decision based on the qualifications of each candidate. You will make your announcement on May 29th along with the information you found that supports why you think your selection is the best qualified candidate.
