Welcome back! You have learned all about cyberbullying. Today, you will apply that information to create your own acceptable use policy for your home.

What is an AUP?An AUP is what is known as an Acceptable Use Policy.

An AUP acts as a written contract between you and your child.(Many schools have AUPs too)

It outlines the terms and conditions for Internet use by defining access privileges, rules of online behavior, and the consequences for violating those rules.

While it does not prevent your child from breaking the established rules, it does place the responsibility back on them and makes them accountable for their actions.

You will now create your own AUP for your household. Your AUP must have the following items in it:

State acceptable uses for home computers

State unacceptable uses for home computers

State what actions child will follow if cyberbullied

         State privileges of use

State what actions the parent will follow if child is cyberbullied

State consequences for abuse of policy

Cover network etiquette(What is acceptable online behavior and what isnt)

Contains a code of conduct for Internet use

Contains a list of responsibilities for the child and the parent for using the Internet

Has a section for both the child and parents signature

Make your AUP as specific as possible.  If you need help with what some of the rules of netiquette are, click on the link below:
