Required Elements for your Language Development Glogster:   

Make sure you check the rubric  at the bottom of this page!  

You must have a catchy slogan: A slogan is a short phrase or sentence meant to gain attention and get aspecific message across quickly. People use it primarily in advertising andpolitics, and in either instance, they generally are trying to make the publicmore familiar with someone or something. A widely recognized purpose of a slogan is to communicate informationabout a company, product, service or candidate, helping people become familiar with and remember what�s available. You must have at least 6 total concrete, specific facts concerning 1st and 2nd Language Development. This means draw on expertise in First Language development to enhance and extend what you have learned about Second Language development

To support these 6 facts, you must have the following:

  • At least 2 pictures/ graphics/ or illustrations
  • At least 2 videos

You must NARRATE your explanation, in your own words, the similarities and differences between the 1st and 2nd language development. Please include your explanation learning vs. acquisition. Please Label this narration "language development."

You must choose 1 of the 5 Theories of Human Language Development PDF that best fits your idea of how language is "learned" and explain why you chose this based on what you comprehend 1st and 2nd language development to be and you must NARRATE your explanation. Please include information from the Being Bilingual Link and the Brain & ELLs power point in your explanation. Please Label this narration "my theory"

Make sure you are creative, use vivid, and exciting appropriate videos! Make sure your narrations are not "read" but spoken.  Be professional and use "I"

You do not have to reference any of the pictures or videos.
