Day1: Team/Partner Research

Didn�t answer all the questions fully.  Uses little detail.  Some answers are incorrect.  Answers are not in full sentences, lacks proper grammar.

Answers all of the questions correctly, with a lot of extra detail.  Sentences are complete and have very good grammar.

Day1: Team/Partner Presentation of Research

One student does all of the work.  Work is sloppy.  Does not make eye contact and mumbles.  Gives incorrect answers.

Both students present.  Do not make eye contact.  Some answers are incorrect.

Both students present.  Both use good eye contact and can be heard.  Answers are all correct.

Day 2:  

Letter to Family/Community Member - Illustration

Puts no thought into the letter.  Makes up something silly � not helpful.  Letter written sloppily.  Plan of how to save does not make sense.  Does not share with partner.  Illustration is sloppy.

Good letter.  Good idea of how to help family/community member.  Letter is well written.  Savings plan makes sense and adds up to the correct amount.  Does share with partner.  Illustration is colorful and shows imagination.

Excellent idea of how to help family/community member.  Letter shows concern and is well written.  Savings plan is well thought out and makes sense.  Money adds up to the correct amount needed.  Shares with partner and is interested in partner�s ideas as well.  Illustration is original, colorful and shows great imagination.

 

Day 3: Book Cover and Description

 

Puts in little work or thought.  Does sloppy work.  Description is poor.  Does not explain why the character is important.

 

Student�s book cover is illustrated nicely.  Student�s description tells why the character is important.  Description does not go into great detail.

 

Excellent illustration of book cover.  Well thought out.  Student gives excellent description paragraph with excellent detail.  This student goes above and beyond.

Day 3: Small Group -Discussion

Student doesn�t contribute.  Student is lazy.  Student does not ask the W questions. 

Student asks the W questions.  Shows interest in others thoughts.  Contributes good ideas.

Shows good turn-taking during small group.  Uses the W questions.  Makes eye contact with fellow members.  Comes up with well thought out answers.

Day 4:  Partners:  Poem Continuation with Illustration

Uses little effort.  Poem doesn�t make sense.  Poem doesn�t advance the original poem.  Illustration is lazy and sloppy.  Little effort put into picture. 

Good effort.  Good Team work.  Poem is engaging and continues original poem.  Illustration is interesting and shows good effort. 

Poem is very original and well written.  Poem continues original poem. Team work is evident.  Great effort.  Illustration is original, and shows emotion.  These students went above what was expected.

Day 4: Performance of Poem with Partner

Shows no interest.  Does half hearted performance.  One student does more than other.  No acting out, or �Two Voices�.  Has no music, or music that doesn�t match emotion of the poem.

Student shows interest and thought during performance.  Student either acts out the poem through dance, or does �Two Voices� with partner.  Music matches mood and emotion of poem. 

Student gives heartfelt performance. Whether the student is acting out the poem, or doing it in �Two Voices', you can feel the poem�s emotion.  Music emphasizes mood of poem.  Students work very well as a team.  Very dramatic.
