Project Rubric

This rubric is designed to provide group members with direction and share WebQuest expectations for completing research, creating a PowerPoint slideshow, and presentation of findings. This rubric will also be used in assessing the performance and end result of your group�s project. The total project is valued at 90 points. 0 points will be awarded for insufficient effort, 5 points will be awarded for partial mastery, 10 points will be assigned for accomplishing all requirements, and lastly 15 points will be assigned for going above and beyond project expectations.

Group members did not work well together in the best interest of the overall project or individual roles.

Research Objectives

 

 

Group members strayed from their assigned topics and neglected to focus on the assignment.

Group members stayed on topic, but did not produce adequate material/information to include in the slideshow and presentation.

Group members focused on their assigned topics and incorporated appropriate information in their slideshow and presentation.

Group members not only included appropriate details, but also shared additional findings that exceed project requirements for slideshow and presentation.

 

PowerPoint Slideshow

 

 

Less than 16 slides overall, less than 3 visual representations, and topics are not completely covered. Sources of information were not listed.

Slideshow consists of 16 slides and 3 visual representations, but ideas/slide transitions are lacking cohesion and detail. Group members only partially referenced information and visual presentations of information.

Group members created 16 slides total, incorporated 3 visual representations, and assigned topics were completely addressed. Group members cited information for all visual and topic specific information.

Group members exceeded minimum requirements and included additional facts, visual representations, and details during presentation. References for visual components and information are evident.

 

Presentation

 

Not every group member shared his/her portion of the project.

Each group member shared their portion of the research/slideshow, but presentation lacked unity and clarity.

Each group member shared their assigned portion of the project and ideas were clearly understood by audience.

Each group member delivered his/her portion of the project with extreme precision and invoked interest within the classroom.

 

Conclusion

Group members did not accept audience feedback or ask if anyone had questions at the conclusion of their assignment. Students also neglected to develop 4 questions to pose to the audience at the conclusion.

Group members generated 4 questions to ask the audience, but they lack purpose and direction in respect to their presentation.

Group members developed 4 questions to assess audience attention, comprehension, and to serve as feedback on presentation success.

Group members encouraged audience to ask questions following their presentation. In addition to asking a minimum of 4 questions, students promoted an understanding of why security measures are forever a part of our lives and instilled a sense of necessity for further preventative measures.
