Generally, students must be able to effectively communicate their topic by using grammatically correct sentence structure, verb and subject agreement and punctuation.

The total score is made up of three parts, that is, completion of weekly assignment of the first three weeks (30%), oral presentation of Week 4 (20%) and class debate of Week 5 (50%).

The assessment of oral presentation and debate is based on the attached rubrics with four dimensions respectively: for oral presentation, preparedness, posture & eye contact, content and collaboration with peers; for class debate, respect for other team, information, organization and understanding of topic.

Preparedness Student is completely prepared and has obviously rehearsed. Student seems pretty prepared but might have needed a couple more rehearsals. The student is somewhat prepared, but it is clear that rehearsal was lacking. Student does not seem at all prepared to present. 1-5
Posture and Eye Contact Stands up straight, looks relaxed and confident. Establishes eye contact with everyone in the room during the presentation. Stands up straight and establishes eye contact with everyone in the room during the presentation. Sometimes stands up straight and establishes eye contact. Content Shows a full understanding of the topic. Shows a good understanding of the topic. Shows a good understanding of parts of the topic. Does not seem to understand the topic very well. 1-5
Collaboration with Peers Almost always listens to, shares with, and supports the efforts of others in the group. Tries to keep people working well together.
