Heat excites the molecules in matter and makes them move faster. Heat travels from hotter matter to cooler matter until both are the same temperature.
Examples of heat energy are:
1. The sun
3. Friction (rubbing your hands together)
4. The heat emitted from a light bulb
5. Our body emits heat
Heat is everywhere and essential to life on earth. Without heat we could not generate electricity or drive our cars. Heat is needed to cook our food and to create many of the goods we use in everyday life.
