Hurricanes are natural occurences that are amazing yet destructive.  Hurricanes have been occuring for thousands of years on the earth but climatologists have only recently gained understanding about their births, paths, and strength.  As additional hurricanes are tracked and studied, more accurate predictions can be made that will hopefully lessen the loss of life and property due to these immense storms.  This webquest should raise awareness and define specific characteristics of hurricanes causing the student to have a broader knowledge of the subject and become more prepared for dealing with the effects of these storms on their own lives.
