Civil Rights Movement

The civil rights movement made it possible for minorities to enjoy basic human rights. The changes that were made are the reason that society has progressed to the point that it has and minority groups are able to enjoy basic human rights. It is an important piece of history because to know where we are going we need to understand where we came from. The civil rights movement would not have been possible without people risking their lives to take a stand and fight for what was right.
