Conclusion

Congratulations!!!!!

You have now finished the unit on Jean Piaget, and should feel confident talking about schemas, accommodation and assimilations, Piaget's four stages of development, and Piaget's educational implications.  You should now take the time to reflect upon the key concepts that were covered and how they relate to modern day educational practices. Additionally, challenge yourself to determine different moments in which assimilation or accommodation happen, and reflect on why that may be important for your learning and development process.
Piaget's work has heavily influenced the constructivist school of thought, which has in part led to the development of activities such as service learning projects and simulations, where learners are challenges to learn by experience and to make meaningful connections in order to construct new knowledge.

Final thought: What are other ways in which Piaget's work has influenced modern education?
