Great job on completing these 5 lessons and activities! As you think back over what you have learned these past few days, reflect on how these topics impact your life personally and why they are important to you. You should not have a better understanding and appreciation of your civil rights and freedom as an American citizen. Maybe there were some rights that you didn’t even know you had or that you simply just took for granted. Likewise, I hope that you also feel more knowledgeable and have a deeper appreciation for the beauty and contributions of the many different cultures that contribute to our country. Do you feel like you know your family and your classmates a little bit better after learning more about their cultures? There are also benefits to knowing your local government and geography better. Having a good understanding of government and political issues and officials in your area is an important way to stay connected to the community and contribute to state and federal decisions when election time comes. Overall, I hope this WebQuest helped you to feel more connected to your family, community, country, and the world around you and hopefully develop a deeper appreciation and love for those things as well.
