Ancient Roman Gladiators

Of course, upon completion of this project, students will have gained a greater understanding of the Roman civilization, in particular the role of gladiatorial combat in Roman society. I will consider this project a success if the students can appreciate the freedom and sensibilities we enjoy today in comparison to the ancient Roman attitudes towards entertainment and slavery. This is really why we study history, to appreciate where we are today.
